asa 5505, ipsec and licenses

Hi-

I have a small project where I would like to install an ASA 5505 with the base license to be the head-end for 6 - 8 remote access VPN clients.

The inside interface would connect to a 200+ node LAN that is behind a router. The inside network will not be using the 5505 as a firewall. The 5505 will only serve as a tunnel end point for handful of remote access clients.

My question is: will I overrun the 10 user firewall license when the remote access users communicate with more than 10 internal nodes?

Hi Jim

Looking at the attached data sheets the limitation of 10 for the base license is the number of remote VPN users not the connections those remote VPN users can make. So as long as you don't try to use more than 10 vpn clients at the same time you should be fine.
