ASA 5510 cannot save flash to disk0:

I deleted the flash from an ASA5510. I was able to tftp a version back into the device, but cannot seem to correctly have the box boot from this flash. I get the following error:

!WARNING: BOOT variable added, but not a valid image disk0: /asa831-k8.bin

*** Output from config line 41,"boot system disk0:/asa83..."

I have tried every save syntax i can think of to save this flash, but have yet to have it boot with an image ( I keep booting into ROMMON and have to tftp the image back in)

any pointers on what I am overlooking?

Download the config file to tftp server. Verify the line "boot system ....". I am sure that image pointer has the different name than the one you have recently uploaded. Please check and update.

Re: ASA 5510 cannot save flash to disk0:

Chris,

Can you try - show flash -

You should be able to see the file you uploaded from TFTP.

Then check - show run boot -

You should have the file name you want to boot and poiting to disk0.

do - write mem - and try the - reload - again.

Felipe.

ASA 5510 cannot save flash to disk0:

Your boot command syntax is correct and matches the image's file name. So that's all good.

I suspect perhaps a corrupted image. I suggest you download a new copy from cisco.com and put that onto your disk0:

asa831-k8.bin should be 15570.00 KB (15943680 bytes)
