Hi,

Setup description:

- 2 x ASA5510 version 7.2(2) connected

with a crossover cable via failover interface.

- Lan based failover

- Stateful interface is the same as failover interface (Ethernet0/2).

Config of Primary:

interface Ethernet0/2

!

nameif failover

no shut

!

failover lan unit primary

failover link failover

failover lan interface failover Ethernet0/2

failover interface ip failover 10.1.0.1 255.255.255.0 standby 10.1.0.2

!

failover

config of secondary:

interface Ethernet0/2

nameif failover

no shutdown

failover lan unit secondary

failover link failover

failover lan interface failover Ethernet0/2

failover interface ip failover 10.1.0.1 255.255.255.0 standby 10.1.0.2

failover

The problem:

1- Starting Primary ASA

2- Starting Secondary ASA

3- Configuration replication is sucessful

4- "Show failover" say that that failover is up and running

5- Disconnecting the crossover between both Ethernet0/2 interface.

6- Both ASA detect the link failure

7- When reconnecting, the primary ASA try to replicate configuration but at this time the secondary crashes. On the console port, the secondary is showing hexadecimal display with strange ascii characters. It finish by rebooting...

Do you know what's going on?

Thanks,

can You try this way..

1) Switch Off firewall for 5 Minutes

2) Connect failover cable - When firewall switch off

3) Switch On again...

Still problem persist....

Take offline trouble firewall and .... Chec th directory and Registry settings.

This is most of registry problem.
