ASA 5520 license

Hello,

Are there different part numbers to order Cisco ASA 5520 active-active license or Cisco ASA 5520 active-standby license?

If yes, where can I get more information.

The client currently has following licensed features on one of the Cisco ASA 5520 appliance:-

Licensed features for this platform:

Maximum Physical Interfaces : Unlimited

Maximum VLANs : 100

Inside Hosts : Unlimited

Failover : Active/Active

VPN-DES : Enabled

VPN-3DES-AES : Enabled

Security Contexts : 2

GTP/GPRS : Disabled

VPN Peers : 750

This platform has an ASA 5520 VPN Plus license.

Does it mean that for configuring Active/Passive failover, one has to purchase another license? If yes, what's the part number?

Regards

Re: ASA 5520 license

Your box support both Active/Active and Active/Standby. Default failover mode is Active/Active, as shown in the ASA5520 features.

If you need to change to Active/Standby, follow the active/standby configuration guide.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a008063b31a.html#wp1058096

Active/Active failover - for ASA (except ASA5505) in multiple context mode. In an Active/Active failover configuration, both security appliances can pass network traffic

Active/Standby - Both units are in the same mode (single or multiple, transparent or routed). Only active unit can pass traffic

HTH. Pls rate all useful post(s).
