Currently running version 7.0 (8). Going to lease a ASA (max flash & DRAM) so that I can upgrade.
I plan on upgrading the leased ASA to the latest & greatest version, my question is what version do I want to use ?

Hello,
I would suggest the 8.0 or 8.2 train unless there is a specific feature in 8.3 that you need to use. The reason for this is that there are very significant changes to the way NAT and ACLs are configured in 8.3, as well as the requirement for a memory upgrade. Here are the release notes for each so you can take a look at features and open caveats in each:
8.0(5):

8.2(3):

8.3(2):

Hope that helps.

Just purchased 512MB Flash & 2GB DRAM for the current ASA so I don't think future upgrades will be a problem, thanks for the input !

One feature in 8.3 that I wished I had once upon a time was the capability to clear a DF bit. Used to be that only a router could do it.
