ASA 5520 with PIX525

Hi

We are using pix 525 with ver 7.0 now, cpu usage is about average 30%, sometime go up over 50%. If use ASA 5520 replace pix 525, how about for cpu usage improve?

Thanks

Re: ASA 5520 with PIX525

You would definitely see a difference, much lower cpu and memory usage. This is due to more powerful CPU and 512Mb RAM as default shipments from Cisco. You also get more bandwidth thru put as they are now gigabit interfaces instead of fastethernet interfaces. Thru and thru, its a much beefer box than PIX and running essentially the same PIX IOS.

Its Cisco's intention to eventually replace cisco PIX with ASA.
