Hi all, I am new to Cisco ASA firewall. I have been trying to make basic configuration in the ASA but dont seem to get it. I cant ping the outside interface from my inside host. I need help on how to setup the ASA and make traffic pass through.

Hello Samsom,

I cant ping the outside interface from my inside host.

Expected behavior, is well documented that you cannot ping a far-end interface, that means that if you are on a PC on the inside interface you can ping the inside interface IP address but not the ASA outside interface IP address.

You should be able to ping any other device on the outside interface except the ASA outside IP address.

Add this

fixup protocol ICMP

and then try to ping 4.2.2.2 from that inside host.
