ASA Management interface remote connection

Level 1

The management interface needs to be on the same subnet as the inside interface.

Is it possible to specify the management default gateway to the inside ? Will the ASA v 8.0 like this at all ?

The management interface will be remotely manage [from outside] and unfortunately the back end is all layer 2.

route management 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <inside ip address of ASA>

I was also  thinking about pointing it to the layer 2 device ( which should have a DG to the ASA inside interface) ...

Thanks,

Pete

Hello,

It is not, each interface of the ASA needs to be on it's own broadcast domain ( unless you are running transparent mode)

Ok.  I guess that makes sense.  I thought having the "management-only" command treated the interface differently.

We will have to re-design this somehow.
