Can't authenticate ASA Trust Point

hi all,

i'm trying to create a trust point and an identity certificate at the same time but the ASA can't seem to allow me.

i tried to do it both in CLI and ASDM but no avail. anything i'm missing here?

 

ASA5505(config)# crypto ca authenticate TP-5505

ERROR: receiving Certificate Authority certificate: status = FAIL, cert length = 0

It looks like you're trying to authenticate your device's issued identity certificate before you have told the ASA to trust the issuing CA.

Have a look at this Cisco document and refer to Step 3 (paragraph 8 onward specifically)
