I have a pix515e setup using a wan ip block right now.

We just changed internet providors and now we have the folllowing config.

Net Mask:           255.255.255.240

Gateway              24.248.7.129

IP                            24.248.7.133

DNS:                      68.105.28.16,68.105.29.16

Cidr Block (inside)

Subnet:                24.249.187.144

Net Mask:           255.255.255.240

IP Address.         24.249.187.145-159

Recommendation from Cox:

.145  should be used as the Gateway

.159 should be used as the Broadcast

How would I setup the Cidr block on the pix?

Do you mean the pix outside interface has an IP of  24.248.7.133 ?

If so does this mean you want to use the 24.249.187.144 subnet on the inside of your Pix ? And if you do do you actually want to assign these public IPs to actual NICs on internal devices or do you want to use private IP addressing on your internal devices and then use NAT on the pix with the 24.249.187.144 devices ?

Jon

I guess your ISP expecting a router between PIX & his gear (PIX--> router--> ISP). Talk to your ISP and ask for /28 ip with direct ethernet handoff. if not, ask ISP to arrange a router as well.

Thx
