Cisco ASA 5510 blinking status led

Hello,

We have a Cisco ASA 5510 which fails to respond.

Its status led keeps blinking.

I powered off and powered on the unit but the behavior is always the same.

With a console connection, only this line is shown:  "Booting system, please wait..."

Could anybody help me?  :-)

Thanks in advance.

It would usually indicate a hardware issue. You could possibly open up the ASA and reseat the RAM module and the internal compact flash card as a troubleshooting check. If that doesn't fix it you may need to replace the hardware.

Do you have Smartnet support?

Hello,

Thank you Marvin Roads for your answer which really helped me last time. My problem was a little bit different but i succeeded in fixing that!

Hi mate,

how did you fix the issue. I am having the same issue with Status light keep flashing after reload.

Before reload, only Active Light was turned Amber, and yes console just shows the message :

"Booting system, please wait..."

Hi,

Have you already tried Marvin Rhoads's solution?? "You could possibly open up the ASA and reseat the RAM module and the internal compact flash card as a troubleshooting check."

Because i tried it and it worked for me!
