Am not conversant with Firewalling.

however i have need to set up CISCO ASA 5585 out of the box.

i would like if any body could guide me through the initial and final installation steps.

Wow, your company bought an ASA-5585 (list price somewhere between US$60,000 to 200,000+ depending on modules) and didn't get at least some professional services to set it up and transfer some knowledge to the staff who are expected to operate and maintain it? That's astounding.

Anyhow, the first reply above points you to the configuration guides. You should also have a look at the Quick Start Guide.

I'd recommend seriously pushing your management for some training also. The ASA is a very full-featured product and not the sort of thing you sit down and learn after reading the manual for an hour.
