Outside of the normal FUD and TAC refusal to work with you, has anyone had any issues (or even tried) running cisco ASA with non-cisco memory. the reason I ask is one customer has some older ASA 5550 and I have concluded DRAM memory is bad. current RAM is a cisco part, but it has a micron logo on it. I called crucial (part of the micron company); and they were able to find the exact equivalent crucial part, for about 25% the price of cisco memory.
Also, does anyone have any comments on ASA memory going bad? Have you seen this before? Have you ever had fail-to-boot scenarios which were unexplainable? On this ASA 5550, its pretty clearly one or more bad RAM sticks. Device seems to hang on boot, at this point:
“Booting System, Please wait.”
I swap RAM and device boots. Seems like another guy had a similar problem:

thx!
