Configuring the ASA Management Interface

I have an ASA model 5510 on my client site. I want to use the Management interface to manage the ASDM and SSH connectivity to the box.

I have configured the appopriate IP on the management interface and enabled it.

For whatever reason, I am unable to see the interface or connect to it.

It shows a link light on the RJ45 connector in the back. I also have the switch port that connects to it in the correct VLAN. Is there anything else I need to enable on this interface to make it work?

thanks

Re: Configuring the ASA Management Interface

Hello Kevin,

Is icmp inspection enabled in firewall? Can you ping the interface? Did you name the interface? Keep in mind that you can use that interface for management only if you have base license

Regards
