I save a copy of our Pix firewalls config to a tftp server every week, how can I restore a backup onto a Pix, I know have to save but not restore?

It depends on what PIX OS version do you have.
for example on 7.0 and higher
ASA5510# copy tftp: ?
cache: Copy to cache: file system
disk0: Copy to disk0: file system
disk1: Copy to disk1: file system
flash: Copy to flash: file system
running-config Update (merge with) current system configuration
startup-config Copy to startup configuration
system: Copy to system: file system

PIX(config)#configure ?
onfigure mode commands/options:
WORD Configure from HTTP:
http(s)://[
Place IPv6 address within square brackets if a port is
specified.
factory-default Configure from factory-default
memory Configure from memory
net Configure from tftp
