Pix is older version of Cisco's standalone firewall. ASA is the replacement.

The ASA supports firewalling/VPN/IPS/IDS/Content filtering so it is a fully featured security device.

The FWSM is a module that goes into a 6500 chassis but it is important to note that it is only a firewall ie. it doesn't support IDS/IPS/VPN etc..

PIX is the older Cisco firewall appliance. PIX firewalls are coming EOL, and ASA firewall is the replacement for PIX firewall.

FWSM is firewall module in Catalyst 6500. FWSM does not have external interfaces, and all interfaces are vlan base.

Hope that answers your question.
