Hi All,

We have had incoming email issues through our new ASA, looking through the logs we see the following entry :

4          Feb 28 2012          10:12:36          507003          X.X.227.42          49643          X.X.4.1          25          tcp flow from OUTSIDE:X.X.227.42/49643 to INSIDE:X.X.4.1/25 terminated by inspection engine, reason - inspector disconnected, dropped packet.

We have disabled ESMTP in the global_policy inspection_default but still the errors persist in the logs and we have intermittitent email issues.

Many Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

The issue you are facing might be relevant to bug : CSCtn08326. Please find the bug details in the following link :

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtn08326

However to confirm that the configuration on device need to be checked and also packet captures should be run on ASA.

I would suggest you open a Service Request with TAC to look into this.

Thanks,

Narayana
