Firewall contexts on ASA and FWSM

I am researching the use of firewall contexts and was curious about the different pros and cons with using multiple contexts. I heard that when you use contexts, you give up certain features of the firewall. Was curious if that was true and if so, what do you give up by using contexts?

Re: Firewall contexts on ASA and FWSM

Hi,

If you dont need the below features then you could run MC in ASA or FWSM.

Unsupported Features

Multiple context mode does not support the following features:

•Dynamic routing protocols

Security contexts support only static routes. You cannot enable OSPF or RIP in multiple context mode.

•VPN

•Multicast
