FWSM issue "session: Unable to tunnel to FW"

Hi Sir,

I have an FWSM installed in a Catalyst 6509 in module 4. The FWSM runs software version 2.3(3). The Catalyst 6509 runs CatOS 8.3(4) on Sup720.

Today I can't session into the blade from the Catalyst 6509 switch. I receive the following error:

Cat6509> (enable) sess 4

Trying FW-4...

session: Unable to tunnel to FW-4 (57)

How can I regain access to the FWSM? I did not configure the Admin context. So I have no idea which other ways I can gain access to the blade.

Please advise.

I think you will have to reload the FWSM by giving command "reset 1". After the reload you should be able to get access to the FWSM if you were able to access the FWSM earlier.

Hi,

I session to the FWSM the next day and was able to access to it.

I guess it had locked my session the other day and freed it after certain time period.
