FWSM on VSS, interchassis link.

Capacity planning for interchassis links is an important part of VSS deployment. Include capacity for FWSM failover pairs to account for failover/state VLAN links between the two chassis if FWSM interchassis failover is deployed. It is recommended to set aside 1-2Gbps for this purpose.

Now, I'm using two 10Gb interface for VSL.

May I use two 1Gb interface, always on SUP720 to build a dedicated GEC for failover pairs only?

Thanks.

Hi..

I don't think u can use the 1G link in the Sup720 to build a GEC for the failover pair.

THis is because the entire VSS is treated as one switch. If u connect the GE port in Switch1 to Switch2,

from VSS perspective, u are looping back the connection to itself.
