FWSM Password Reset

Hi,

Suddenly my fwsm started asking me username and password, later it was only just password, I put the user name as "cisco"(by knowing its default)and old password. It logged in but not allowing me to run even sh run. it says some authorization error. Please let me know how to overcome this issue as its bit urgent.

Hi ,

As per my understanding you put the command by mistake to authentication/authorization locally on u r FWSM device & which is having very least priviledge thats y its not permitting u to run any other command .

Check did you create any other User or try some other command on it .

Please reply with some more info like are u able to reboot this FW or its in Production becasue to reset the password to Root u need reset the module once .

Will you please share the steps to reset firewal, as I have got 30 mins downtime today night.
