FWSM sending Logs to SMTP server

Hi,

We have a requirement where the FWSM has to send logs messages to the exchange server (located on a directly connected DMZ).Will the following configurations be enough.

logging on

logging from fwsm@abc.com

logging recipient-address admin@abc.com

smtp-server 172.18.0.101

I am assuming that the id fwsm@abc.com has to be created on the smtp sever. Is any other configuration required in fwsm?

Thanks in advance

Sonu.

Re: FWSM sending Logs to SMTP server

On the FWSm,

give the command "logging mail "

setting a log sev-level is recommended, otherwise the mail server will be flooded.

"logging mail 3" should be OK, sending only emergency, critical, alert and error logs only.

Also on the SMTP server, allow the FWSM IP to send mails.
