Good ways to determine application usage

I am looking for suggestions on how to determin the application usage thru my firewall and my Internet connection. Since so many of the users applications such as video, IM, and radio all seem to tunnel over port 80 and other well known ports what are good ways to dig deeper into these traffic streams to determine the percent of link utilization of video vs. standard html? I have read about various application firewalls that look like they do this better but was wondering what members of the cisco community are doing to get this visability and/or control.

Re: Good ways to determine application usage

Hi,

"show service-policy" normally shows the packet hitting the policy. If you are looking to block the tunneling application over http, you can create layer 7 policy map and block those.
