Hairpinning in the ASA

So I have a Websserver that is being monitored from the inside of my network for the availability of port 80. The server is in my DMZ. Couple times I have made changes to an ACL or something in the ASA and caused access from the Outside to the DMZ to then fail. I need a way to test to the External IP of the Webserver. I was thinking of hairpinning but not sure how I should go about that. Any suggestions?

I guess my alternative is to have an external node setu somewhere to monitor the Public IP-$$$$ ,we poor!

Thanks

From the inside, you would need to access port 80 of the web server using its real (private) IP, not its public IP.

Does it work when you monitor it using its real IP?
