I'm looking for real-world numbers on ASA performance and am having trouble finding them. Can anyone comment on how many packets per second their ASAs are running on each interface? I ask because I recently upgraded 5520s to 5550s but I'm not really getting double the performance as noted in the marketing documentation. This config is basically a 2 interface firewall (inside and outside) and each interface is running about 120,000 packets per second when I count input and output. Double that number for the other interface and I'm getting 240,000 packets per second. Does anyone know if the marketing number of 600,000 pps for a 5550 is achievable only with a certain number of interfaces?
