What are the steps needed to upgrade the image on a WS-SVC-FWM-1?

I'm trying to go from 3.1(5) to 3.2.(5). This blade is in a 6500e chassis with just a sup7203b 12.2(33) no configurations were made except for the ip address on interface on the sup engine to connect to my computer. I looked at the cisco docs and its real confusing I'm not sure how to configure an interface on the FWM blade to ping the tftp server.

You need to create and assign L2 VLAN(s) (with L3 SVI(s)) on the Catalyst to the firewall and then create corresponding interfaces on the FWSM. With that you should be able to log into the the FWSM IP address directly.
