Key pair info

Hello,

I just changed the hostname of my PIX 501 and here's the outcome:

oldname# config t

oldname(config)# hostname newname

%Key pair with hostname oldname.some.here.dom will be invalid

newname(config)#

what does the key pair message mean, and what troubles should i be expecting later?

Hi Totin

It's to do with any rsa keys you have generated on the Pix. The primary use for these keys would be for ssh access.

When you setup ssh you need to generate keys. If you change the hostname you will need to regenerate the keys.
