logging - how to stop console logging

IOS 7.05 PIX 515e

I have turned on logging.

I set up a syslog server.

But log messages stop me from doing anything on the console.

How do I stop the messages?

I have tried "no logging console".

I tried setting "logging console 0"

I don't want to just limit the messages. I want to stop them completely when I am doing work. But not turn off logging to my syslog server.

no logging console stops the messages from being echoed to the console (still sent to syslog). Are you consoled in or telnet/SSH?

If using telnet/ssh try no logging monitor.

Hi,

what is the status.

regards

skrao

I am in Console. I attempted "no logging console"

That did not work but ....

If found this statement in a show running-config

logging class session console informational

I then put in

no logging class session console informational

This disable console logging and said so in the

show logging output.

Thanks

this works for me too with Catalyst 9800 controller I was facing the same issue ..

command is : no logging console informational

but you need to be in "config t" mode for this to work ...

Thanks for the reply

I got the logs only when connect to Switch using console cable, tried to RUN the above command but still same.

What kind of switch you are using ?

and when you say "I got the logs only when connect to Switch" ==> What do you mean by that ?

Thanks. Works on CISCO IOSvL2 images on GNS3.

I assume logging class session console informational

command is dominant over all

Switch is not accepting this command

Consoled
