yes this is possible. The requirements is to get your serial number of the PIX through show version. Try to contact one of Cisco Vendors/ Partners and ask for this license upgrade. Give them the serial number and they will send you the activation code via e-mail.
Once you add the activation code you would need to restart the pix. After the restart, issue the command show version and you would see that your license is unristricted.
Configuration would stay the same except you will be able to add interfaces to the PIX and have unlimited connections etc...
