Hello All,

I have a PIX 501 6.3(3) I want to upload the 6.3(5) ver of the OS via tftp server. When I issue the command

"copy tftp://192.168.2.2/e:tftp-root flash:image"

I get the folowing:

Result of firewall command: "copy tftp://192.168.2.2/e:tftp-root flash:image"

copying tftp://192.168.2.2/e:tftp-root to flash:image

tftp: TFTP Server Error: Invalid access to e:tftp-root

Image not installed

The ftp server log states

"Invalid access to e:tftp-root from 192.168.2.1

I tried using 2 different tftp server apps, and I get the same results, Anyone have any ideas why this is happeninig?

The e:tftp-root dir has "everyone" full control for test purposes to see if this was the problem, but still no luck.

Thanks for any aasistance.

Hello,

You need to specify the filename: pix635.bin (or whatever you have named it)

copy tftp://192.168.2.2/e:tftp-root/pix635.bin flash:image

Also - make sure that directory name is right - most tftp servers don't require you to specify a drive letter.

hi

try doing this

copy tftp://192.168.2.2/pix635.bin flash

i don't know which tftp server you are using but i would recommend solarwind

if still having problems try this for step by step

copy tftp flash

Address or name of remote host [127.0.0.1]? 192.168.2.2

Source file name [cdisk]? pix635.bin

copying tftp://192.168.2.2/pix635.bin to flash[yes|no|again]? yes

if helpful , please rate it

also make sure your tftp is set to both transmit and recevie mode

Thanks for the idea, I was using SW, and it turned out to be that in windows explorer the file pix635.bin displayed porperly, but looking in the SW dir it was listed as pix635.bin.bin, once fixed all was well.

Again many thanks for your time & knowledge to all that helped!
