Hi,

If you look here :

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_tech_note09186a0080094a5d.shtml

You will see an upgrade matrix.

Within the versions you are talking about you can simply do "copy tftp flash"

If you find this post usefull

please don't forget to rate this

Hi

is it possible to copy the version 6.1.4 when it is running 6.3.4 , i mean i want to downgrade the from 6.3.4 to 6.1.4 .

hello,

as far my recommendation goes ,you should run 6.3.5.

if you wnat to downgrade, you simply need to do a " copy tftp flash " with pix614.bin in the tftp server, you would be able to downgrade from 6.3.4 to 6.1.4.

here's any example procedure :

In order to upgrade/downgrade your OS you will need :

1. a tftp sever on a PC connected to the PIX inside interface.

2. a valid CCO id/password for downloading OS from cisco website.

Here are the upgrade steps:

Download the pix software from here:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/pix ( Please download pix614.bin file )

This is a link for a free tftp server available on the net.

http://tftpd32.jounin.net/

Go down to middle of page and download v2.80 dated 18 jan '2005

When you install and open tftpd32, It will show a current directory path.you can change it to your desktop (if it already does'nt point to it). Because when you download OS file it should be in the same directory as tftp current directory. So save OS file at the same place as the root(current) directory of OS.Keep the TFTP exe file running as it needed to upgrade the OS.

Now login to pix from this PC and in config mode, give command

copy tftp flash

after this it will ask for address of tftp server: it should be the ip of this PC on which you have pix image file saved and tftp installed.

then it will ask for image file name: give pix614.bin

if it finds the file it will ask for confirmation: give yes

then it will erase old image and install new version. You should then be able to see the latest

version installed in sh ver command.

This is all we need to do.If there is any confusion or you need assistance feel free to contact me.
