PIX 525 7.0.7 crashinfo

My PIX 525 booted up during the day. I have not figured out why it lost power, crashed, reboot, etc. Syslog doesn't show anything abnormal. I have issued the show crashinfo command but nothing has been saved. This leads me to the point of this discussion. How does the crashinfo work? Is a crash saved by default? When is a crash file generated versus not generated? In reading I found that a crash file will only be generated if the system is completely up at the time of the crash (my system has been up for weeks). If syslog doesn't tell the story and there is no crash file can an educated guess be made as to why the firewall rebooted?

Thanks
