Pix and ASA ?

HI

I am using Pix 515 6.3

my question is

(PIX and ASA is different ?.

like cisco pix 525 is pix firewall

and cisco 55X0 is ASA firewall .)

if i use 7.o in my pix 525 then it work as appliance ???.

pls clear anyone.

ASA is more specialized appliance with extensible capabilities. If you are just looking to run Firewall then PIX 7.X and ASA 7.X code are technically equivalent. You might not be able to take advantage of extended capabilities of ASA with add-on modules
