PIX failover question

Hi.As I don't have much experience with PIXes I'm seeking some advice concerning following failover configuration.I have 2 PIXes connected through a failover cable and after entering show failover command I get the result that my secondary PIX is in active status and my primary PIX is in standby status.

All interfaces on both primary and secondary PIX are showing as normal along with cable status. What I was wondering is if my secondary PIX that is now active goes offline will the primary PIX currently in standby take over?If not how can I make sure it does?

Hi

This is fine. if the standby firewall fails then yes your primary firewall will become active again.

Thanks for the fast reply Jon.I wasn't sure it would work like that considering my secondary PIX is active and I don't have much experience in that area but your answer eased my mind quite a bit.Thanks.
