Hi
I'm trying to add a 3DES license key to a PIX515 running a restricted license and I get the following error:
ERROR: The requested activation key was not saved because it is not
valid for this system.
Does anyone know if the PIX supports 3DES on a restricted license or if this is just a key problem?
Thanks in advance
Malcolm

Yes it does support 3DES.
Register on this link to get a valid activation key.
Click on the Cisco PIX Security Appliance 3DES/AES License Registration :

Hi,
I had the same problem with my restricted box. The 3DES key from the Cisco website just won?t work. It took Cisco TAC 3 days to finally give me an alternate 3DES key that would work.
Please open TAC case. Post in this thread again if they don't help you.

Hi Rafiki
Thanks for your response I mailed Cisco and they sent me a key that works.
Best regards
Malcolm
