Problem with routing voice isp

Hi Guys,

I want to add a SIP trunk on my existing network. My ISP offers me on there switch 2900 with a single IP which i have to lead to my 3cx configuration on a HyperV.

What configuration do I need to make, to route the voice via the separate voice network ?

Help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Problem with routing voice isp

Hello,

So you wan to send SIP and the RTP traffic over the SIP Provider but the internet traffic over another link? Is that true??

The ASA does not support PBR where you can route based on source traffic or application being used so in this case you will need to still depend of the routing table of the ASA.

Maybe I am understanding wrong the question, can u be a little more clear and specific?

Re: Problem with routing voice isp

Hi Julio,

Correct, Send SIP and the RTP traffic over the SIP Provider but the internet traffic over another link.

Every voip traffic from this SIP provider need to be routed to 172.xx.xx.250

Problem with routing voice isp

Hello,

First of all is important to say that this is not officially supported as PBR is not yet implemented on ASA firewalls.

There are some tweaks that you can do to try to make this happens (not 100% sure if will work due to the nature of this protocol opening pinholes) and of course would not recommended for any real scenario.

My best recommendation is to place a router in front of the Firewall (Just forwarding all traffic, no NAT being done there but performing the PBR for you).
