Is there a way to properly shutdown the ASA or can you just pull the plug?

Re: Proper shutdown

in short, no, there is no proper way aside from making sure everything is backed up according to best practices.

Re: Proper shutdown

Since the ASA contains no hard drives (its a flash based device), you can safely go ahead and switch-off the power button.
