question about asa 5500 series license transfer or share

was wondering if anyone has had a situation like this:

i installed a new license on a particular asa 5500 series router the router has failed and i wanted to put the same license on the replacement. Is there a way this can be done? the actual equipment is the cisco asa 5585. please let me know if there is a way to make this happen with out issues to the end result.

Hi 

Normally when you installed the license you generated it through Cisco licensing website using asa serial number. 

You can transfer this license to the new box by using the website or by opening a tac through Cisco licensing website
