hey Warren
Older versions of PIX did not do rate limiting.. with the new versions such as 7.x, pix can do a little bit of rate limiting features, using QOS..
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_tech_note09186a008084de0c.shtml#rate
URL explains the function of QOS on PIX.. if there is no rate-limiting applied on the outbound interfaces, it is a pure FE/GE port, and will be able to push that much traffic !
Hope this helps.. all the best.. happy new year..
