Recover half of a PIX 515E pair

We switched from a PIX515E failover bundle to an ASA config a number of years ago and we stumbled across the 515E equipment in storage last week. One unit has the 7.2(1)boot image, FO activation key, and default config. The other unit won't boot because it is missing the boot image.

We no longer have support on the 515 equipment. How can I get the boot image onto the other unit and add the default config? Will the activation key be the same, and if not, is there any way to obtain the FO activation key for this unit if it has been lost?

Hello; If you have console

Hello;

If you have console access to the Unit, you should be able to follow the next procedure:

monitor> interface interface_id
monitor> address interface_ip
monitor> server tftp_ip
monitor> file pw_tool_name
monitor> gateway gateway_ip

And then just TFTP.

The activation would not be the same. If the flash did not get corrupted, you should be able to see it there or in any show tech you may have laying around.

If the flash is corrupted, then there is no way to obtain the license now.

Mike.
