RV042 WEB & CONTENT FILTERING

Dear Colleagues,

I have a CISCO RV042.

I would like to implement web & content filtering by diabling all video and voice  traffic. So in this cas even if the person does not open a video streaming site and gets the content via facebook or another site it will not work.

Which port do I need to block.

I also want to block all file downloads. All I want is basic web surfing

Hello, Daniel.

To be able to block audio/video and file downloads you either need MIME-type filter or deep HTTP inspection engine.

Not sure if RV042 could have any of them.

If you want to do filtering based on the traffic type you would need  something like a web security appliance.  However with the RV042 you  should be able to do URL filtering to block access to websites that you  do not want your employees to access.
