Setting up Cisco ASA (5500) to act as NTP server

We are using the ASA 5500 purely for VPN. I also want to setup it up to act as NTP server. My goal is to have the ASA synchronize its time with an external NTP server (outside world), but in turn act as NTP server for all other servers, desktops, cisco devices including CCM in our network environment.

Can someone please assist me with this and/or guide me to where useful documentation can be found on how to setup.

Thanks

James

Please check the Command reference for info on how to set up ntp:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa72/configuration/guide/basic.html#wp1067759

This is decribed under "Configuring Basic Settings".

Leo

Hi James

As far as i know the ASA can be setup as an NTP client but not as an NTP server.

Jon

Guys, is this still the case?

Have any changes been made in the 7 years since this ticket?

We are looking to use our ASA 5505 as an NTP server but everything I read says NO....
