I have 2 525 pix?s in an active passive fail over configuration. I need to split them to use them as individual firewalls, is there anything I should be aware of? Will I need to re-license the individual pix's etc?
Just make sure that you don't have FO (Failover Only) license on either of the two PIXs if you intend to use them separately as standalone devices. PIX with FO license cannot be used in standalone mode. If that's the case, then you will need to get a new license for that PIX - either R (Restricted) or UR (Unrestricted).
