I have enabled logging on my ASA it seems to be populating alerts correctly. I just tried to access from the outside (via my ADSL line) http://ouside-asa which is closed and I got an alert that 22.214.171.124 was denied access to outside on port TCP/80.
Now the part that isn't logging are the other outside IP's I use that come through the ASA to servers.
For example off the ASA's gig0/2 port O have a Cisco switch with a webserver VLAN for the internet. If I try http://outsideip:8080 for example the page wont load because that port isn't open, but no deny appears on the syslog server on on the ASDM log screen.
Does the ASA not log these denies for or devices that are set up with static NAT's?
