syslog issue

Hi,

I have enabled syslog setting on my ASA 7.2

logging enable

logging trap alerts

logging host inside x.x.x.x tcp/1468

logging facility 20

Whenever i enter logging facility 20 my syslog server starts receiving logs but stops after 15-20 min.

Also logging facility 20 does not appear in my running config.

Again if i enter the same command it starts working but again stops after 15 min.

Any suggestion..

I think you are facing the problem since you are using TCP because the connection having to be re-established and if you have a lot of Syslog messages this will definaitely be a problem. You can use UDP instead of TCP for sending syslog messages. Following link may help you
