Hi all,

I am unable to access the asdm of my cisco5520 running asa ver 8.2(5) and asdm 6.4(7).

My win7 pc is installed with java 7 update 51.

My previous pc also running win7 has no problem accessing the asdm. But i can't remember the java version.

No changes made on my cisco5520.

Pls advise. TIA!

Hello Don

You need to downgrade your java version to 6 to make this working as ASDM 6.4 is not compatible with java version 7 update 51.

Kindly refer this link for ASDM compatibility with java .

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa84/asdm64/release/notes/asdmrn64.html

Let me know if you still sees this issue.

Gaurav

Alternatively, you can go into your java control panel and downgrade the security level from the default "high" to "medium".  As of 1.7u51 Oracle has implemented their threatened policy change to denying unsigned code by default, and the Cisco ASDM code is currently unsigned.

I've had OK results with Java 1.7 on various versions of ASDM, as long as I stick to 32-bit runtimes.   64-bit doesn't work for me yet.
