Upgrade a PIX 525 from 7.0(4) to 7.2(2)

Hi all,

I need to upgrade my PIX 525 from current version 7.0(4) to a more recent one: 7.2(2).

I have a doubt because the new code is larger than the current one. And I have not enough space in memory to put both codes at the same time. So I think the new code will replace the old one in flash.

How can i achieve that? Is there anything I need to know before upgrading my firewall?

Hi,

Upgrading the Pix from 7.0(4) to 7.2(2) is pretty much the same.

And, I would strongly recommend that you read the release notes before you do the upgrade.

For example, there are some features that are not supported in 7.2, like PPTP. Also, one important section is the open caveats.
