I am upgrading to Version 7.1.2 and have read since I have PDM installed I have to use monitor mode. I never use PDM can I remove it before the install and if so how?

Here is my current flash.

flash file system: version:3 magic:0x12345679

file 0: origin: 0 length:1941560

file 1: origin: 2490368 length:12902

file 2: origin: 2621440 length:43

file 3: origin: 2752512 length:3126944

file 4: origin: 5898240 length:131072

file 5: origin: 8257536 length:308

Should I remove anythign else. I want it nice and clean for the upgrade.

Also, I want to backup my current flash but the copy flash tftp command does not work in 6.3.3. Can I back up the flash incase the upgrade fails.

Thanks.

I think it is not possible to back the image under 6.3(x) or older. You probably need to consider using the 6.3(5), with PDM 3.0(4). This is the highest version of 6.3(x) family available for download. Others are newer 7.x, or older 6.2(x)/6.1(x).

To delete your PDM, use "delete flash:" command. Use 'dir' command to verify the name. Deleting PDM can free spaces in your flash.

Refer to the following link for detail steps on upgrading (from monitor mode) and downgrading/reverting back to 6.3(x) code:
