Websense PIX 515 Configuration

Hello all,

In need of some websense and firewall help. We have purchased a new Websense 10000 Appliance and I'm not a hundred percent how to set this up. I see that URL Filtering is a possibility and WCCP can anyone recommend which way to move forward on implementing this?

Do both of these protocols use a span port on the connected switch on the appliance to monitor traffic?

Any help would be much appreciated.....

Thanks,

Dan

Thank you Varuna, is the pix515 able to use wccp as its redirect?

Thanks,

Dan

If you are running Websense, it would be best to use the document the TAC engineer listed above. If you are running version 7.02 or later on the PIX, WCCP is available.  WCCP is generally used to redirect traffic to an Ironport device.

Does that also include using transparent identification via websense? We are wainting to intergrate it with our active directory so it can pull policy via AD groups. I thought that WCCP was needed for that.

thanks,

Dan
