What is the default PIX OS version on PIX 501?

I just purchased a used PIX 501 Firewall and need to know what OS version it has by default?

Well you could enter the show version command to know the OS version of the PIX.

If you are asking if what comes by default from Cisco, it depends on the Software you order. If you are having a 10 or a 50 user license you need to run minimum of 6.3.

There's no default if you're buying a used PIX. It probably has 6.something on there unless it's REALLY old and the prior owner didn't upgrade it.

If you're asking about user licenses, I would say the default is 10. 50 and then unlimited are a separate costs. HTH
